How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Owner Ruth Hamberg: "What got me started in my business? Love of nature and of town/ city design lead me to study Landscape Architecture. I also studied urban planning and design. I graduated from Michigan State University in 1981 with a degree in Landscape Architecure. After working in both public and private sectors as a landscape architect and planner for almost 20 years, I decided to try the free-lance consulting route. So far I enjoy it very much."
Ruth Hamberg is both a registered Landscape Architect and Certified Urban Planner with 25+ years of urban design experience in both the public and private sectors. Ms. Hamberg offers professional consulting services combining project management, community planning, urban design and site master planning. Ms. Hamberg has a comprehensive understanding of the public participation process and the principles and practices of urban and town design. She also has a thorough grasp of the relationships between the environment, transportation, land use planning and livable communities.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I am both a Florida registered Landscape Architect and a Certified Planner. I am a member of the Congress for New Urbanism. My focus is on urban form and the interconnections of green space, streets to neighborhoods and downtowns. I also have a certification in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
One location only- I serve the Orlando Metro area. I have no plans to expand.
